CONCLUSIONAT THE POST

The bugle sounds, signaling that the horses and jockeys are at the starting post. The crowd goes quiet. Movements at the starting gate unfold in slow motion. The jockey adjusts his goggles and checks his boots in the stirrups. He listens to his horse breathing and gazes down the track. Anticipation swells as he awaits the starting bell. He squeezes the reins, feeling well-worn leather, and exhales. The race of his life is about to begin.
