ECM as Middleware

The push to ECM as middleware grew out of necessity. Enterprises needed a system that could provide infrastructure, but at the same time was much more than infrastructure. Enterprises needed a system that was a useful application, but at the same time would be able to grow into much more. What enterprises needed was ECM as middleware.

Middleware contains the key building blocks for creating custom applications, and extending off-the-shelf enterprise applications.
