Pragmatic Consolidation

Just because you can place all of your content into one single repository, doesn’t mean you should. The pragmatic ECM strategy emphasizes users first, content second, context third, and architecture last. Always keep in mind what your users need, and in what context, and design the best architecture you can to serve those needs. Ideally, all strategic content will be in one strategic repository, meaning one system to learn, patch, and maintain. However, in practice you will probably also have a handful of tactical repositories that must be included in your strategy.
