Foreign direct investment (FDI) has traditionally been considered as an organization from one country making a physical investment in property, plant, and equipment in another country. In recent years, as a result of the rapid growth and change in global investment patterns, our understanding of FDI has widened to include the acquisition of a lasting management interest in an enterprise outside the investing organization’s home country.
