Foreword

One of the greatest challenges Web designers and developers face is to bridge the communication gap between highly visual and highly linear thinkers. It’s only the rare individual who has been able to show a balance between sophisticated, innovative design and progressive, complex technical issues. People such as Jeffrey Zeldman, Douglas Bowman, and Dave Shea have each made significant contributions to the industry for precisely this reason: They’ve been able to not only work on both sides of that gap but also to articulate to others a means of getting to that point.
