We'd all like to think that training will some day go back to the way it was. We long for the good, old days when we were able to spend months developing a 5-day instructor-led class and then offer it for 2 years through an in-house catalog. Recently, I looked at some of my staff and said, “It appears that complex projects with ever-changing requirements and unclear ownership have become the norm, not the exception.” As an industry, it is time that trainers stop waiting for the old days to return. That ship has sailed. Chaos is now the norm.
