Closing the Performance Gap

The results of the proactive or reactive consulting meetings covered in Chapter 2 determine your next step in using the model. If you and your client have identified a clear business need and agree to collect additional analysis data, you may opt to continue to the Needs/Gap Analysis phase (Figure 3.1). If you get too much pushback from your client, you may decide to skip the Needs/Gap Analysis phase. Remember, this model is flexible and should be used differently to conform to each situation.
