What to Look for When Evaluating and Modifying Training Modules and Cover Sheets

In general, you should consider the following questions:

  • Is the training module easy to read under the actual physical work conditions? If not, adjust print size, lighting conditions, or whatever is appropriate.

  • Does the trainee understand the purpose of the task and how it connects to previous and future tasks? If not, revise the cover sheet to state this information in the “notes” section.

  • Do both trainer and trainee share a clear understanding of what counts as successful task completion? If not, make sure the performance objective on the cover sheet is clear and adequate.
