How to Determine Pilot Areas for Implementation

Pilot groups can be in any functional area of the organization—retail sales, finance, inspection, customer service, maintenance and repair, shipping, and so forth. Some companies start with one pilot group; others start two or more pilot groups in one particular department or area of the organization; still others establish groups in more than one area. The pilot group is always a group with an identified need for structured OJT. Use the following criteria to identify a work group, or groups, willing to implement a pilot project. All of the criteria are critical.
