Use Tables and Charts Appropriately
Use tables and charts to organize data and help the trainee process information. For example, tables often are used to list special tools and equipment, and charts are used for show tolerances and limits. Tables and charts also are useful when you want to avoid having the trainee perform calculations. Here is an example of a table:
EQUIPMENT | CARTRIDGE NUMBER | LOCATION |
---|---|---|
HP fax machine | HP 2475a | Supply closet, shelf 2, box #3 |
HP inkjet printer | Black—HP 1627a | Supply closet, shelf 3, box #1 |
Color—HP 1725a | Supply closet, shelf 3, box #2 | |
HP laser printer | HP 2004b | Cabinet under printer, top shelf |
Here is an example of a chart:
WEIGHT (LBS.) | DECIMAL EQUIVALENT |
---|---|
1/4 | 0.25 |
1/3 | 0.33 |
1/2 | 0.50 |
2/3 | 0.67 |
3/4 | 0.75 |
