What Is a Learner-Led Summary

A Learner-Led Summary is a discussion or series of statements, led by the training participants, that summarizes what they have learned. Remember: You are not doing the summary; the learners are.
Besides being an effective way for learners to review content and to assess their own learning, a Learner-Led Summary also gives you—the trainer—an opportunity to evaluate what learners know. For example, during a learner’s summary statements, if you hear erroneous information, you can make a mental note to meet with that learner after the training, or at another time, to address the misconceptions.
