Other Adult Learning Processes
You will surely encounter other adult learning theories as you learn more about training. Two are introduced here.
Competency-Based Training
Many trainers believe that competency-based training is the best way to build learner skills. They hold that each job or task is made up of competencies that are critical to a process. Because each competency builds on the next, each must be mastered by all learners who have a need for the particular skill. These competencies are best exemplified by the knowledge and skills of the master performer. By observing what the master performer does, the trainer can develop a list of these competencies and then use the list to train new learners to act like master performers.
