Trainers, instructional designers, learning specialists, or whatever the practitioners of the various training disciplines might be called are looking to e-learning to provide that magic mix of effectiveness and efficiency that emulates the apprenticeship training of the past. They have taken on a great many tasks ranging from analyzing their company for training needs to evaluating the effectiveness of major organizational change interventions, but their primary responsibility is still to find ways to take their training to that level of one-to-one interaction that once existed.
