Animation Editing – Ease In & Ease Out

Ease In & Ease Out (or Slow In & Slow Out as it was originally known) is the one animation principle that can most clearly be seen in human and organic movements in the real world. Objects do not naturally reach a critical speed in the real world unless purely mechanical – Even mechanical objects such as vehicles or planes require momentum before building speed gradually.

Gravity and inertia also act to slow the momentum of objects, both when beginning motion or halting.
