The tourism industry is one of the most important sources of wealth generation in the underdeveloped economies (Blake, Arbache, Sinclair, & Teles, 2008; Scheyvens, 2001). The literature reveals, however, that tourism does not come without a cost, and that within the tourism industry there are serious social pathologies (De Kadt, 1991).
