CHAPTER 3Cutting the Internal Mental Clutter

While experiencing rain delays over and over during a Wimbledon tennis tournament, Venus Williams said, “I love the delays. Each time they happen I sit down and clear my mind.” Venus eventually won the tournament.

You can clear your mind of both external and internal clutter if you learn to repeat to yourself and meditate on phrases such as the following:

“Trust.”

“No judgment.”

“There is no hard if I bring the best me.”

“Pressure is something you feel when you do not know what you are doing, and I know what I am doing.”

“I’m taking my heels off.”
