MEET CLAIRE
8:30 a.m.: Claire rests her first cup of coffee next to the computer as she waits for the company security system to log her in to Windows. She doesn’t actually mind the wait, because her first task will be wading through unwelcome e-mails to find the handful that really matter to her. Her thoughts turn to the research project she’d come here to pursue, if only she could find the time and get the key people in her organization to buy into the idea. But it’s always such a struggle to get stuff on their radar screen; they’re as swamped as she is.
8:32 a.m.: The computer is on and the e-mail downloaded, and her research dreams are crushed by an inbox consisting largely of useless information and uninvited ...
