Deepak Gurnani, Head of Hedge Funds, Investcorp
 
 
 
Deepak Gurnani is the head of a $4 billion hedge fund investment business for Investcorp, a New York, London, and Bahrain banking corporation with $12 billion of alternative investment assets under management. Joining Investcorp in 1993 to establish the risk management function, Gurnani played an instrumental role in leading Investcorp into hedge fund investing and developed its hedge fund investment process. By applying his expertise and intellect to researching and solving complex investment problems, he has mastered risk management to build a unique and highly sophisticated hedge fund investment process.
Prior to Investcorp, Gurnani spent six years with Citicorp in various management and information technology consultancy assignments with Citicorp/Citibank offices in Europe. He holds a BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi and an MBA (specializing in banking, finance, and systems) from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmadabad.

BACKGROUND

Gurnani developed his risk management skills and mind-set while working with trading and asset management groups at Citigroup. He joined Investcorp in 1993 to establish the risk management function for its small proprietary trading operation.
