16. Productivity Apps
What’s a productivity app? It’s something that helps you do real work. (Productivity = work.) We’re talking apps for note-taking, email, file management, and the like.
The desktop is where productivity truly reigns (think Microsoft Office and similar traditional software programs), but is making gains in the Windows 8.1 Modern environment. If you want to do your work full-screen, there are an increasing number of apps in the Windows Store that will make you more productive—especially if you have a touchscreen device.

Sometimes you just need to jot down a few quick notes for future reference. Short of pulling out a sheet of scrap paper (and then losing it later on), what’s the best way to do this?
