Wordsworth’s Lake District

William Wordsworth and the epic landscape of the Lake District are forever linked in the public imagination. Born in Cockermouth in 1770, Wordsworth died at Rydal Mount in 1850, and throughout the region there are umpteen sites associated with him. These range from pretty Dove Cottage, where he lived with his sister Dorothy and extended family, to isolated Easedale Tarn, immortalized in The Prelude.
