WEIGHTED SELECTION CRITERIA APPROACH

The weighted selection criteria approach is an objective way to prioritize alternatives and select the best one based upon the highest score. The goal is to remove as much subjectivity as possible from the decision.

This approach involves listing requirements, assigning a point value to each one, and assigning a weighted value to each one. Next, for each requirement, multiply the assigned point value by the weighted value. Finally, add all the calculated points for each alternative. The total points will determine the relative importance of one task vis-à-vis another.
