Managing a Cisco Internetwork

Here in Chapter 2, I’ll show you the commands for managing Cisco routers on an internetwork. The Internetwork Operating System (IOS) and configuration files reside in different locations in a Cisco device, so it’s really important to understand both where these files are located and how they work.

You’ll be learning about the main components of a router, the router boot sequence, and the configuration register, including how to use the configuration register for password recovery. After that, you’ll find out how to manage routers by using the copy command with a Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) host when using the Cisco IOS File System (IFS).
