Creating and Editing Objects

Toad makes it possible to create and edit any object, and in several cases, copy from other existing objects. Toad has quite a few administrative functions that fall into this category (editing of objects) and which are covered later in this book.

This chapter reviews creating and editing tables, indexes, and users.

The menu item Database → Create starts wizards to create just about any object in Oracle.

Note

The connected Toad user needs the Create Table privileges to create tables and indexes. The Toad user needs the correct database permissions to be able to execute any syntax generated by Toad.
