Learning about chords

In contrast, a chord is when you play two or more notes simultaneously. For example, if I play three notes C, F, and G altogether; it's a chord. Chords generally provide the bass section to a music.

If you keep playing the same chord over and over again it will sound monotonous—so you jump from one chord—again following a rule. This is called chord progression. More simply, an ordered series of chords is called a chord progression.
