When I’m on a trip, whether it’s a vacation or a photography excursion, I like to think of myself as a “traveler” not a “tourist.” In some places you can’t fully escape being a tourist—or being viewed as a tourist—particularly when overseas. But what you can do, at the very least, is change your perspective on what you see and where your travels take you.
