Part IV SQL Support

This is the final part of the main body of the book. It consists of just one rather lengthy chapter. In it, we examine the relevant features of the SQL standard and see how they measure up against all of the various concepts and techniques we’ve been describing in earlier parts of the book. By the way, do please note that we use the term SQL to mean the standard version of that language exclusively, not some proprietary dialect (barring explicit statements to the contrary). In particular, we follow the standard in assuming the pronunciation “ess cue ell,” not “sequel,” thereby saying things like an SQL table, not a SQL table.
