Understanding Hacker Tools and Techniques
Although not stated as a formal objective for the TICSA exam, an understanding of the types of tools and techniques that hackers use to attack systems can be invaluable in providing a proper level of network and system security. Without knowing what tools hackers have at their disposal, how they are likely to be used, and other types of attacks hackers are likely to try, it's much harder to anticipate and test potential vulnerabilities and to simulate intrusion attempts.
