Chapter 3. Aspects of Architecture

To many people the term architecture evokes images of box-and-line diagrams such as the one shown in Figure 3-1. This type of perspective is important as it shows the components and their communications channels, but it only tells part of the story. It does not, for example, tell you the nature of the work being performed nor does it tell you how the participants collaborate to perform that work.
