#12: Don’t Leave in a Huff

There are many reasons to call it quits at a job. You may only have been in your new position a few months, but it’s clear—this is not where you want to be.

It could be years before the honeymoon is over. You just know that it’s time to move on. The work has become boring. Or your daily duties are simply intolerable. You and your boss don’t see eye-to-eye and never will. The company’s culture is a major misfit. The list goes on.

But when it’s quitting time, there are few good reasons to walk out in a huff with no explanation. Or to wave ta-ta at the end of the day, then e-mail your resignation with no plan to return. It’s the chicken way out.
