#2: Don’t Wear Nose and Tongue Rings

A recruiter in Pittsburgh describes a young woman who “looked great when I interviewed her.” So the recruiter sent her to meet with the president of a bank. Unfortunately, the woman showed up for the interview with nose and tongue rings (along with her miniskirt and low-cut top, which we’ll talk about next).

People at the bank—the recruiter’s client—rushed the young woman out of the interview. The president “was shocked that anyone would show up in that outfit just going into a bank, let alone going there to interview,” she says. “I had to apologize all over the place. I am glad I didn’t lose the account.”
