images 92. How Should I Describe the Platforms I Choose?

Even if you fully understand each of the different platforms in which you choose to have your brand participate, it's best to include as much detail as possible in the descriptions. Descriptions should include a brief (or detailed, if you prefer) history of the service, how it is used, and the type of users that typically frequent the site. Equally as important is a description of how your brand intends to use the platform. If the intention is to use the service to listen to the conversation only, while another service is intended to be used as a public relations tool, this should be detailed in the platform description. That way, the intent or purpose cannot be misconstrued.

If you have a hard time determining how to describe a service or platform, check out that service's About page. It will likely have a detailed description of how the service came about, and how users can take advantage of its offering.
