images 54. What Does Tagging Do?

A way to identify people in photos is by using the handy tagging feature. To tag someone in a photo is quite easy. You simply go to the Photos page and click the Edit Album link of the album that you want to tag. After you locate a person's face in the photo, you then select the appropriate name in the box that pops up. If the name is not in the box, you can type it out in the text field. If you need to tag yourself, select Me. Repeat this process for everyone in the photo that you would like to tag. When you finish, click Save Changes.

imagesYou can set the Notifications setting to alert you when someone tags you or even one of your photos.

When you tag a friend in a photo, anyone can see more images of the friend by clicking the View Photos Of link beneath that person's profile picture. The feature enables you to go a step further to tag someone else's photos while browsing through them. To do this, from the actions listed under the photo, click Tag This Photo.

To remove a tag from a photo that someone else has uploaded and tagged you in, simply view the photo, and then choose Remove Tag at the bottom next to your name. The photo will no longer be linked to your profile.
