images 48. What Should My Facebook Page Be About?

One of the most commonly asked questions about Pages is, “How often should I post to Facebook?” The answer is not clear because it depends on your fans and the subject.

If you have a Page for your business or organization, you should update it two to three times a week when you first launch. It is a good idea to consider posting items of interest to your readers such as useful tips, your latest video or blog post, or even a link to an online news article related to your industry—with your personal take on it.

As you gather more fans and get more of them to interact with your Page postings (or if you're lucky enough to be a celebrity), your Facebook paparazzi are probably hungry to often hear from you about what's happening with your business, events, travel tours, tips, books you've written, and so on. At this point, you can probably increase your posts to two to three postings per day.

You can figure out how well your frequency of posting works by simply monitoring your engagements (fans liking your page postings or commenting on them) and by viewing your Page Insights. If you begin to post more frequently and start noticing a significant increase in the number of people who unsubscribe from your Page, this may be a sign to tone down the number of postings.
