Leadership is a knowable quality, but you wouldn't know that from much of what has been written about it. With some notable exceptions, like Michael D. Abrashoff's outstanding book It's Your Ship, much of what has been covered in texts on leadership address things like the whole silly debate about whether or not leaders are born or made or what personal characteristics make up a good leader.
