1.16. Selection of Insulation and Accessory Materials

Materials for insulation, fastening, jacketing, and finishing shall be selected from the materials described below unless otherwise agreed by the company. For more information on insulation materials reference is made to BS 5422.

1.16.1. Thermal Insulating Materials

Before deciding on the insulating materials to be used for any specific purposes the factors in Table 1.32 shall be considered.
Thermal insulation material(s) shall be selected based on Table 1.33.
Miscellaneous insulation materials shall be the following:
 Expansion or contraction joint material shall be loose mineral wool fiber with temperature limits of -101°C to 650°C.
