Abstract
This chapter covers the minimum requirements for thermal insulation of pipework, vessels, tanks, and other equipment. It is aimed at thermal insulation usage in the oil, gas, petrochemical, and other similar industries mainly for refineries, chemical, petrochemical, and natural gas processing plants. The chapter explains the fundamental requirements for insulation systems, including insulation materials of sufficient quality and thicknesses, weatherproofing, and finishing. Also, there is discussion on the design issues related to thermal insulation, including selection of the thermal insulation system, corrosion under thermal insulation, and the general applications of insulation. ...
