This book has grown out of lecture notes in courses in Mathematical Statistics, Linear Models, Multivariate Analysis, and Time Series Analysis taught by the authors over many years at UC Davis. Of these, Mathematical Statistics (Chapters 110) and Linear Models (Chapter 11) are core courses for PhD students in Statistics and Biostatistics at most institutions. Courses in Multivariate Analysis and Time Series Analysis are also taken by many students in these programs. A good background in Advanced Calculus and Matrix Analysis is a prerequisite for these courses.
