Criticism will be a part of any job you will ever have.

What the professional critics have to say about your work is less important to you than it is to the producer. Good reviews sell tickets. So, while you certainly want good reviews for the production, the best notices any designer may receive are no notices. Good design should blend seamlessly into the production as a whole.

So, unless you decide, and convince a director and producer, that the Prologue for your production of Henry V should be fully staged, complete with horses and long bows, criticism is likely irrelevant.
