IT’S INTERESTING WHERE IDEAS come from. In the case of Entomology the concept for the design came from a music video—the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ single “Pin.” Jon Hicks wanted to create a visual hook that still related to the Garden concept, without being obviously a garden itself. The video for “Pin” contains images of pinned butterflies, which fit Hicks’s goal perfectly.
