There Can Be Only One

One of our first running jokes as a team was about ouzo. No one remembers how or why, but one night out with Stefanos, Nikolay, and Matt, we wanted to do a round of drinks to celebrate and asked our waitress about Athens's local alcohols. Ouzo was mentioned, and I said I hated it. Immediately everyone clambered for us to do a round of ouzo shots, which we did, several times, yelling, “Ouzo!” It was ironic and stupid, but we all laughed. I'm sure I ordered rounds myself, as the joke got better as the trip went on. But later, even we got sick of not only drinking ouzo but talking about it.
