Strategic goal

The goals for financial health and the customer are two of our favorites. They are effective and appropriate, most of the time, for many companies. And sometimes, these two goals may be all that you need. And that’s fine.

In other cases, a third goal may also be effective and appropriate. You will need to decide if this is the case for you, and create the correct goal (for example, perhaps a goal for inventory).

One of our favorite third goals is one that is related to some strategic issue. This is something that might be of high long-term value, is the focus of a critical issue, and would be important enough to nurture and manage.

Strategic goals might be called for when there are significant changes in the
