On the following page are some examples, by no means meant to be comprehensive, to illustrate the nature of “goals,” however well-intentioned, that do not meet the previous criteria. Our experience indicates that many stated goals sound quite good, but that they often don’t function well as measuring sticks for success. So, we need to turn good intentions into solid unambiguous goals.
