Established at least yearly

Finally, we urge you to establish your near-term goals at least yearly. In fact, many successful managers establish monthly goals and then “roll them up” into yearly goals. So, in any given month, you’ll know where you should be and you’ll always be planning ahead by at least a year, regardless of your fiscal calendar. You’ll always be setting new goals.
