Directly related to fulfilling the company vision

When your near-term goals are directly related to the company vision, you establish a standard of achievement that directs your daily on-going efforts in the right direction: toward achieving your vision. For example, consider again the client who intended “to have a company product on every boat made in America.” This portion of the company’s vision compelled the company to create near-term (one- to two-year) goals, such as desired results for rep or distribution agreements, that would move the firm closer to that vision.
