The benefits of applying ISA-88.01 to large, complicated batch processes have been well established. However, many batch processes are small (involving only a couple of units) and simple, such as blending a few ingredients together. Through an example batch process, this chapter explores some ways that the principles of ISA-88.01 can be applied to such systems.
