NTSC Format
The standard television/video format in the United States, which delivers images at a resolution of 525 vertical lines at 29.97 frames per second.
High-Definition (HD) Format
A newer television/video system than NTSC that almost completely replaced NTSC in broadcasting in 2009. The HD standard for television is 1920 × 1080 pixels.
Resolution
Resolution refers to the number of pixels the digital image is composed of. Pixels (a contraction of the words “picture element”) are the smallest, microscopic building blocks of digital images. The more pixels an image is composed of per unit area, the higher the resolution—and therefore the perceived clarity – of the image.
