It has now been many weeks or months since the digital facility began work on your shots. At last all the approvals are in and the shots are ready to be delivered to you. What happens now?

Well, here we have to be mindful that the ultimate goal of the months or even years of toil is to distribute the film to theaters where, the producer hopes, multitudes of people will flock to see it. At present, there are two distinct paths by which a film can be completed and released: the traditional, photochemical path, and the new kid on the block, digital intermediates. The path the studio or producer chooses will affect how you deliver the visual effects.
