Enhanced Processor Signature
Immediately after the removal of reset, processor ID information is deposited in the EAX register (this has been true since the advent of the 486 processor. The Pentium® 4 processor added the Extended Family and the Extended Model to this information (see Figure 59-7 on page 1461).
