Enhanced CPUID Instruction
The CPUID instruction was enhanced in the following ways:
Request type 1 was enhanced to report additional capabilities in EDX. In addition, the ECX register also returns new capability bits. The Extended Family and Extended Model fields are now returned in the EAX register.
Request type 4 was added to return detailed information about the processor caches.
Request Type 5 was added to return the size of the memory area monitored by the MONITOR instruction.
The Extended request types were added.
