The Voltage ID

The processor has five (VID[4:0] on the earlier Pentium® 4 processors) or six (VID[5:0] on the 90nm Pentium® 4 processor) Voltage ID output pins that connect to the voltage regulator on the system board and select the Vcc that the regulator supplies to the processor. The table showing the encodings can be found in a specific processor's data sheet.
